The Board of Directors of the Egyptian University Sports Federation held a meeting, yesterday Wednesday, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Council, in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Hassanein, Vice President of the Federation, Dr. Arafa Salama, Secretary-General of the Federation, and members of the Council, in the new city of El Alamein.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister directed to intensify the efforts of the Sports Federation in organizing sports activities through summer courses, in cooperation with universities, and to exploit the energies of young people and provide them with various experiences and skills.
During the meeting, Dr. Arafa Salameh reviewed the sports activity plan of the International Center for Sports Sciences and Arts, where 7 training programs will be organized, namely: (Qualifying university sports managers, gym coach “personal trainer”, the International Forum for Sports Science and Arts, sports injuries and kinetic rehabilitation, financial management of sports institutions, preparation Young Student Sports Leaders, Swimming Pool and Water Treatment Management).
The Council agreed to organize the Egypt Cup for Universities and Higher Institutes of Football, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Alexandria University, and to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of University Sports 2022, with the participation of 16 universities, during the period from 20 to 26 August.
The Council agreed to participate in the Arab University Football Championship for Student Halls (Zayed II Championship), which will be held from 13 to 22 October 2022, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The Council agreed to hold the General Assembly of the Universities Sports Federation, during the last week of September 2022.
The Council approved the joining of Al-Alamein International University to the membership of the Sports Federation Council of the Universities.
The council agreed to include the smart ball game within the activities of the Universities Sports Federation.
The Council approved the summer plan for university sports activity for the 2021/2022 academic year, which will be implemented during the period from July 15 to September 30.
The Council agreed to hold an international conference entitled "Investment in sports facilities in public universities and the economic return... Challenges of investing in university sports facilities", on the sidelines of the World Universities Squash Championship, which will be held from 7 to 15 November 2022 in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Council approved the plan of the Universities Sports Federation for the academic year 2022/2023.
The Council was informed of the holding of the World Cup for Squash and Handball for Universities, under the auspices of the Prime Minister.
