A cooperation protocol between Ain Shams University and Siemens Healthineers' global to promote the digital transformation of health care

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Michael Schmermer, General Manager of Siemens Healthineers in Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Djibouti, Eritrea, signed a joint cooperation agreement between Ain Shams University and Siemens Healthineers, to enhance the digital transformation of healthcare using artificial intelligence.

Under the agreement witnessed and supervised by Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, the two parties will jointly develop solutions to meet critical health care challenges in cardiovascular diseases, neurology and oncology. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain University, said that the German company Siemens Healtheners has become one of the influential companies in the Egyptian market, and cooperation has been made with it as the mother company of many medical technology companies. He praised the efforts of the Ain Shams University team, which held its talks headed by Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research for a period of three months, hoping that this cooperation will open up wider horizons in the field of health care in light of the rapid development the world is witnessing and the expansion in the use of artificial intelligence and robotics techniques to reach the maximum levels of accurate treatment and empower health care providers. Health care aims to increase its value by providing them with smart and innovative technologies in the areas of diagnostic imaging, treatment and laboratory diagnosis, in addition to digital health services, which increases the ability to make a high-accuracy treatment and clinical decision.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh that the university represented by the Departments of Cardiac and Diagnostic Radiology at the Faculty of Medicine submitted 22 researches in the field of artificial intelligence to be the first joint cooperation with Siemens International in the field of health care and medical robotics technology in the light of a knowledge-based society, which allows Ain Shams University to lead in this field. He stressed that the university is in the process of adding other departments to the umbrella of joint cooperation between the two sides in the near future.

Michael Schmermer stressed that the challenges in the field of health are great, which requires the cooperation of all parties together, expressing his happiness to cooperate with Ain Shams University because of its scientific and academic reputation at the international level, in addition to its rich human cadres and elite of the best professors and scientists In the relevant disciplines, pointing out the importance of this agreement not only at the level of Egypt but also at the global level and the future of Siemens in the field of health care.

He added that this agreement is in line with the company's trends and values ​​and its efforts to provide the best medical care for patients.
