A training workshop on “Securing Vital and Governmental Facilities” at the Faculty of Girls

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University and Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector headed by Prof. Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean of the Faculty and the supervision of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty, managed by Prof. Dr. Fatima Al-Zahra, in cooperation with the University’s Civil Defense Unit, held a training workshop entitled Securing vital and governmental facilities, and it was presented by Lt. Col. Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Director of Civil Defense and Vice President of the University Security Service and Mr. Abdel Ghaffar Mohamed Fouad, Head of the Maintenance Department of the Civil Defense Unit at the university

The workshop was attended by Mr. Muhammad Saeed, director of the civil defense unit at the Faculty, and Mr. Ahmed Tahoun, director of the security unit at the Faculty, some faculty staff and the teaching assistants from the emergency committee members, and many of the Faculty’s administration staff

Lieutenant-Colonel Ahmed Abdel Hamid gave a lecture on how to avoid the dangers of fire before it breaks out, how to prevent and control the dangers of fire in the event of its outbreak, and to clarify the extent of the seriousness of negligence within vital facilities and the risks that may result.

         
   
         

His Excellency also alerted to some observations that could be a major reason for the outbreak of the fire when he ignored them. He also introduced some international and Egyptian codes related to civil protection and how to deal with these codes and translate them in a practical and simplified manner.

Mr. Abdul Ghaffar explained the types of fires that we may encounter periodically (fires caused by electrical problems / petroleum fires / cardboard fires) and how to differentiate between them and the proper behavior to quickly control the spread of fire and limit its spread and losses resulting from it.

It is scheduled that the workshops will be held on Wednesday of every week and throughout the month of August in order to benefit from their scientific content and to attend the largest number of employees of departments and sections and train them well on how to face crises and disasters and how to act in the event of any danger
