Ten academic licenses from " Move" package from Petroleum Express Ltd.

In the context of strengthening the educational process and scientific research at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Petroleum Express Ltd. (Petex) granted the Department of Geology 10 academic licenses from the Move package, with a total value of £1,886,731.

Located in Edinburgh, Scotland, Petroleum Express Limited is a petroleum engineering and synthetic geology company that aims to develop a wide range of software tools and has a team of highly experienced professionals in petroleum engineering, synthetic geology and software engineering.

At the request of the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, these software licenses were granted by Petroleum Express Ltd. (Petex), without any expenses for the department, college or university.

The Move software package includes specialized software for structural modeling and analysis, and provides integrated digital solutions for synthetic modeling applications to reduce risks related to synthetic models. Also, this software package provides the appropriate platform for integrating and interpreting data, making structural sections, 3D models, structural reconstruction, verification of interpretations, geomechanical modeling, fracture modeling, fault response, as well as fault and stress analysis.

It is worth noting that these awarded programs will be used to teach a number of courses for undergraduate and graduate students in the department, and these programs will benefit researchers in the department and university, in order to implement projects and research studies related to the structural and tectonic development of sedimentation basins in Egypt and other places in the world, in addition to use these programs for structural reconstruction and fault analysis.
