September 3th... Ain Shams University hosts the Regional Action on Climate Change (RACC) Initiative

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini and supervised by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, hosts the Regional Action on Climate Change (RACC) Initiative in cooperation with the International Drylands Development Commission (IDDC) and the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA).

This will be held at an international conference, whose activities will be witnessed in El-Mahalawy auditorium at the Faculty of Medicine, from 3 to 5 September.

The conference is held with the aim of discussing the impact of climate change on different agro-environmental areas and in conjunction with Egypt's preparation to host the COP-27 Climate Summit next November.

It is expected that a number of prominent international and local figures will participate in the conference, including Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, former director of the Earth Institute, Columbia University and UN Senior Adviser on Sustainable Development, Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Dr. Mahmoud Sakr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), and other eminent personality from different countries of the world.

The meeting is attended by 75 graduate students from different African countries, six of whom - representing different African regions - give short presentations to reflect the impact of climate change in their regions.
