The Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University organized a symposium entitled “Domestic violence is a psychological danger behind doors” at Talaat Harb Theatre, in cooperation with the National Council for Women, Cairo branch, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Samia El-Sayed Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Farag, Vice Dean for Environmental Development and Community Service.
In the presence of Prof. Dr. Rukaya Hussein Shalaby, alternate rapporteur at the National Council for Women, Cairo branch, and former Dean of the Faculty of Girls, Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Suzan Al-Kellany, Professor of Media at Ain Shams University and Head of the Media Committee of the National Council for Women, Prof. Dr. Amani Hanafi, former Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Prof. Dr. Dalia Hussein, head of the Department of Music Education, and a group of faculty staff, the teaching assistants, and students of the faculty.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, attended the meeting, pointing to the historical importance of the venue and topic of the symposium, and stressed the college's interest in women's issues.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Farag explained that the symposium comes within a series of seminars and educational events prepared by the environment and community service sector, stressing the college's keenness to hold more such effective seminars.
Prof. Dr. Suhair Al-Attar, Professor of Family Sociology, Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, Dr. Hala Hammad, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Family Relations, Dr. Mona Al-Sharbasi, a consultant psychiatrist at El-Araby Hospital, and Mrs. Safaa Abdel Badie, member of the National Council for Women, Cairo branch, attended the symposium.
