The Faculty of Pharmacy welcomes its new students for the new academic year

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Student Education Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Rehab Othman, Vice Dean for Student Education Affairs, the new students were hosted in the presence of Prof. Dr. Rola Melad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Rana Al-Hilali, Director of the Student Services Center at the University, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abu Zeid, coordinator of the PharmD Bachelor of Pharmacy program (clinical pharmacy), and Prof. Dr.. Myriam Farid, director of the Quality Assurance Unit, heads of scientific departments, and a group of faculty professors.

At the start of the day, Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, congratulates the new students and that they are lucky not only to join the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, but also to the distinguished professors of the faculty.

Prof. Dr. Rola Melad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, talks about the faculty’s activities and that it is not limited to the educational process, but rather the provision of community services. The role of the student is not limited to education only, but also community services, and the faculty provides this through medical convoys and charitable exhibitions.

Rehab Othman, Vice Dean for Student Education Affairs, made a presentation to familiarize students with the organizational structure of the faculty and its departments and to introduce the faculty guide and the rights of students in terms of health and material support and student participation in activities, and what is the responsibility of the student in the lab and in the halls, dealing with the faculty members, the supporting staff, the staff and the staff of the faculty, and the punishment Who violates this, and what are the offices entrusted with serving students, such as the office of the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Student Affairs Office, and the Youth Welfare Office.

Also, Prof. Dr. Rehab Othman went on to introduce the faculty's medical center and the meaning of credit hours, stressing the method of registering subjects.

Prof. Dr. Rana Al-Helaly, Director of the Student Services Center with Disabilities, explained the definition of the center and what services the center provides to students, not only at the level of physical disability, but also for those who suffer from distraction, vision problems, or the like.

Prof. Dr. Myriam Farid Ayad, Director of the Quality Unit at the faculty, said that the faculty is one of the few faculties accredited more than once and is being re-accredited soon, and how important are the opinion questionnaires that the unit distributes to students to improve the quality of education in the faculty.

The heads of the departments began by introducing the scientific departments that the students are about to study.

Mr. Mohamed Hassan, the head of the information technology unit at the faculty, introduces students to how to register their courses on the faculty website and UMS.

     
 
     

Mrs. Nahed Hussein, director of the Youth Welfare Department at the faculty, introduces the sports, cultural, artistic, scientific, and mobile committees, the social committee, trips and camps, and the counseling and psychological support unit at the faculty.

Dr. Ahmed Abu Zaid, coordinator of the PharmD Bachelor of Pharmacy program (clinical pharmacy) pointed out to the definition of the program and what are the available fields and the materials it studies to be closer to serving the patient, as the clinical pharmacy specialization is required in the labor market.

Finally, the Faculty Student Union presented the student activities, and the students were taken on a tour of the faculty's departments and laboratories, the stadium and the gymnasium.
