The project of the Faculty of Engineering wins the first place in the category of medium projects for Cairo Governorate in the National Initiative for Smart Green Project

The project of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, for converting and testing a passenger car powered by an internal combustion engine into an electric car, won first place in the medium projects category for Cairo Governorate in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects organized by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

         
   
         

The participation of Ain Shams University came under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Omar El-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and those in charge of the project, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Head of the Automotive Engineering Department, Dr. Walid Helmy Abdel Hamid, Department of Electrical Engineering, and Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Kader, Department of Automotive Engineering.

The project aims to study the effect of converting a passenger car powered by an internal combustion engine into an electric car in accordance with local and international standards and to test it in different operating conditions.

It is noteworthy that the results of the competition were announced in a ceremony attended by Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, Major General Abdel Hamid Al-Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, Ambassador Hisham Badr, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and General Coordinator of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, and Eng. Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Representative of the Ministry of Planning and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence.

   
   

The ceremony was also witnessed by Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Noha Samir, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Head of Automotive Engineering Department, College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hoda Helal, director of the Green Transformation Unit, d. Ahmed Maher, project manager, Shams B Green.
