Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Din Abdel Halim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Safaa Shehata, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems organized in cooperation With the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, a symposium entitled The October War between the past and the present... Paths for the development of the nation with heavy presence of all the students of the faculty and a large constellation of faculty staff. The dialogue and discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, President The Department of Geography and Prof. Dr. Amal Shams, the professor at the Department of Philosophy and Sociology, attended the symposium, Mr. Major General/ Adel Al-Omda, advisor at the Nasser Military Academy, and Brigadier General/ Hatem Saber, expert in international terrorism and information war, and advisor to the President of Ain Shams University for Security. ‎

The activities began with performing the Republican salute. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, welcomed the guests and explained to the students the importance of celebrating national occasions and the need to be aware of the nation's issues to raise awareness and benefit from the great victories, which will be positively reflected on all students and future teachers.

Also, Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Din Abdel Halim Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, delivrerd a speech, welcomed the guests, and expressed his happiness with the students’ keenness to attend, as well as the faculty staff from all departments of the faculty, stressing the importance of celebrating the glorious October victories and the extent This reflects on practical life and benefit from the lessons of tournaments.

Brigadier General Hatem Saber also confirmed the necessity of educating young people and drawing inspiration from the October spirit in raising awareness of fourth, fifth and sixth generation wars, information wars and how to learn to resist rumors. ‎

He also indicated the necessity to raise awareness of the dangers of social media and the need to verify information from its official sources.

His Excellency also stressed the dangers of information war, water wars, the economy and terrorist operations to which the country was subjected, and the great Egyptian army and the valiant police were able to confront and control them.

In his speech, Major General Adel Al-Omda, advisor at the Nasser Higher Military Academy, stressed the stages of preparation for the October war, the war of pride and dignity, and his Excellency explained the difficulties that the armed forces and the arts were able to deal with.

At the end of the symposium, Major General Adel Al-Omda and Brigadier General Hatem Saber confirmed the importance of our dear students and all faculty staff being inspired by the great spirit of October and fighting the intellectual invasion that is not in line with our society and thinking when publishing news and verifying its official source, and adopting a culture of rationalization to preserve our resources. Everyone affirmed the need to benefit from the lessons of October, which contribute to raising morale and spreading the spirit of redemption, sacrifice, work and perseverance for our students and faculty staff, which achieve the mission of the faculty and university in community service and sustainable development for the community.
