The Department of Chinese Language at the Faculty of Al-Alsun organized an introductory meeting for the new first year students in the semester system accepted in the Bachelor of Al-Alsun program in Chinese language and literature and the credit system accepted in the specialized translation program in the Chinese language, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel-Aal, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mervat Ali Mohamed, head of the department board.
Prof. Dr. Mervat Ali Mohamed, Head of the Scientific Department Council welcomed for New Students, pointed out the importance of studying the Chinese language and the joint relations between Egypt and China, and explained the history of the faculty, the department, and the courses offered by the Bachelor of Al-Alsun program in Chinese language and literature, as well as the specialized translation program in Chinese, and the importance of each course in shaping the culture of the student studying in the field of humanities and preparing a qualified graduate to work in various fields such as translation and teaching, in addition to completing graduate studies. She also pointed out the importance of the quality of education, the standards to be achieved, the specifications of the graduate, intellectual property, and the importance of students' participation in the development of the program by expressing their opinion. In all its moral sense.
Prof. Dr. Amani Muhammad Abu Al-Anin, professor of literature in the department and head of the student standard, keen on explaining the role that the university plays in terms of solidarity to support students financially and ways to obtain it for those who deserve it and the students also got acquainted with some of the faculty staff in the first year and the department, and the members of the supporting body who are entrusted with following up the students on the educational platform.
Dr. Engy Adel, the language teacher in the department, spoke about the need for the student to pay attention to the Chinese language to prepare a graduate who is able to translate from and into Arabic. She pointed out the importance of the student's commitment to attend lectures since the beginning of the academic year and the need to pay attention to all subjects to be qualified for this labor market, in addition to the importance of working on developing self-learning skills in language learning and translation. She also talked about the specialized translation program in Chinese and how to choose courses and exam dates.
Dr. Lamia Ali Al-Shukhaibi, literature teacher in the department, discussed the role of the student and academic advisor, how students benefit from office hours, how to access the college platform, and how to activate the e-mail and introduce them to the faculty library, study system and academic schedule.
Dr. Nada Bleita, the language teacher in the department, discussed the importance of field training and the requirements that the student must undertake to complete the field training file, the places that provide training opportunities for the department’s students, and the student’s role in the national literacy project in which the faculty participates and its importance.
The professors finally encouraged the students to follow the lectures face to face and on the faculty platform while answering all their questions.
