Signing a cooperation agreement between Ain Shams University and the University of Chicago

The agreement was signed during the visit of Dr. Dina Rashid, Vice Dean of the University of Chicago, and Dr. Heba Iskandar, Director of Community Development at Sawiris Foundation and Orascom. It was In the presence of Prof. Dr. Khaled Kaddari, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Graduate Studies and Research. This agreement comes in light of the vision of Ain Shams University to keep pace with scientific development and presence at the global level in all fields between the University of Ain Shams and the University of Chicago, USA in the fields of research and education.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Ezzat explained that this cooperation is part of the Sawiris program to provide scholarships to students of the University's Faculty of Commerce to study at the University of Chicago for a full year in the field of finance and economics, which may extend to the postgraduate level. He also stressed the need to expand the fields of cooperation between Ain Shams University and the Sawiris Foundation and the University of Chicago to include many other university faculties.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Khalid Kadri, announced that 4 students from the Faculty were admitted to the third grade in English credit hours to obtain this grant and travel to complete the fourth year study at one of the American universities, which is a precedent in the history of the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University.

Dr. Hayam Wahba explained that this fruitful cooperation was the result of a number of meetings held with Dr. Dina Rashid, Vice Dean of the University of Chicago to discuss and discuss the terms of cooperation for the scholarship.

According to Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, according to the agreed terms, 15 students were chosen as the first students according to the cumulative rate. An introductory meeting was held for them with the conditions and requirements. A total of four students were selected for a four-year study, including a study of 12 scientific courses, some of which are equivalent to fourth-year courses in finance and economics. These students will be able to study some courses at the postgraduate level, in addition to entering training programs inside and outside the university.

She added that another seminar was held on the program in the presence of students who were previously selected from the faculties of economics and political science at the level of the Egyptian universities to receive this grant and the four students who were selected from the Faculty of Commerce to transfer their academic experience at the University of Chicago.
