The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, organized the comprehensive development convoy for the village of Shalqan in the Qalyubia Governorate. This came under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The convoy included a distinguished elite and cadres of faculty staff in the Faculty in various specializations, and doctors from the Faculty of Medicine participated in the specializations of internal medicine, orthopedics, and children, and nearly 350 cases were examined, and the free treatment donated by many pharmaceutical companies was disbursed by students from the Faculty of Pharmacy in order to contribute to alleviating the burdens on citizens in areas most in need.
A number of faculty staff at the Faculty of Nursing also participated and analyzed blood sugar for free and measured pressure for citizens.
The immediate illiteracy test was also conducted for 47 illiterate students, under the supervision of Dr. Islam Al-Saeed, Director of the Center for Adult Education at the University, Dr. Hana Hussein, director of the literacy unit in the Faculty, and a number of faculty staff.
Three educational seminars were presented by faculty staff to spread awareness to the people of the village.
Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean of the Faculty, distributed 75 blankets, 52 kg of apples, 20 kg of rice, and sweets for children, as a donation from the faculty staff of the English Language Department, and 55 bags of food commodities consisting of rice, sugar, pasta, sauce, dry dates, and dry beans were distributed. A number of 65 bags of clothes for children consisting of 3 pieces were distributed to orphaned male and female students out of their belief in social responsibility. A number of faculty staff, teaching assistants, faculty employees, and workers participated in the convoy.
Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, confirmed that she is keen on positive participation with the aim of contributing to the advancement of the health, social and environmental development of Egyptian society in general and those who are unable in particular, through several measures, including the launch of comprehensive development convoys, to provide medical services and awareness for citizens in various fields. In the areas and villages most in need.
This comes within the framework of the faculty's developmental and service role towards Egyptian society, contributing to community initiatives, relieving citizens' burdens, and providing them with various aspects of care.
