Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the activities of the "Qualification for IELTS Test" workshop, organized by the Scholarship Welfare Office at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the British Council, ended yesterday.
The workshop was held yesterday in the large conference hall at the headquarters of the Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University.
The workshop witnessed a great turnout of students, graduate students, and faculty staff, as many of them flocked to register before the start of the workshop activities yesterday morning.
The workshop comes within the framework of the Scholarship Welfare Office's keenness to qualify faculty members and their assistants at the university to apply for grants and scholarships in order to represent the international university at all levels of education and scientific research and to enhance the role of the graduate studies and research sector at the university in developing the skills of students, researchers and faculty staff. These skills contribute to improving the linguistic and research capabilities that allow graduates to represent the university in international forums.
The workshop was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Walaa Abdel Ghani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Lamia Mustafa Radwan, Director of the International Cooperation Office, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Abdullah Sami, General Supervisor of the Delegate Welfare Office at Ain Shams University.
A group of students from the Faculty of Agriculture also participated in the process of organizing the workshop, as part of the IClub team at the Faculty.
The workshop activities lasted for 4 consecutive hours and dealt with the various parts of the test, including a detailed explanation of the exam preparation strategies presented by Mr. Samer Fadel - Director of Business Development at the British Council, then Dr. Osama Al-Baily - IELTS expert at the British Council provides details on the different question types in the exam, with the detailed practice for attendees during the sessions for the different parts of the test.
The workshop ended with some training examples for the students, where a group of students practiced some training on the "Speaking" part.
The Scholarship Welfare Office organizes monthly IELTS preparation workshops at university faculties to join scholarships and grants offered by the state to Egyptian universities and academic institutes to study and conduct research in the best universities in the world.
The next workshop is scheduled to be held during the month of December at the Faculty of Environmental Studies and Research at Ain Shams University.
