The activities of the "Together" initiative to support students with disabilities with the Faculty of Specific Education

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Walaa Anis, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit headed by Prof. Dr. Hind Al-Hilali, Executive Director of the Unit, Prof. Dr. Rana Al-Hilali, Director of the Center for Services for Persons with Disabilities at the University, and the supervision of Dr. Abdul Rahman Shawky, Director of the Training and Skills Development Unit in Ain Shams, the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit organized the second event of the "Together" initiative to support students with disabilities, which it launches in cooperation with the Center for Services for Students with Disabilities and the Training Unit in the quality of Ain Shams. An interactive symposium was followed by an art therapy workshop at the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University, within the "Together Initiative to Support People with Disabilities".

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, pointed out that the interactive symposium organized by the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit to support students in the Faculty, especially those with disabilities, is important and effective, and its impact is noticeable on students.

Dr. Hind Al-Hilali, Director of the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the University, expressed her happiness that theoretical work has been transformed into practical work that contributes to releasing the energies of students with special needs and ordinary students, and contributes to emptying negative feelings about their exposure to pressure or any form of violence and bullying.

         
   
         

Dr. Amani Abdel-Aal, a clinical psychologist, explained that the psychotherapy-art approach is one of the oldest forms of the art of psychotherapy, which employs the transfer process between the specialist and the student who performs the art. And how art therapy is one of the means of self-expression and emptying negative feelings, which contributes to the rehabilitation of the student if he is exposed to any of the crises or pressures.

At the end of the symposium, a practical training workshop was conducted in art therapy, which was presented by Dr. Amani Abdel Aal, the clinical psychologist.
