A joint cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Law and the Information and Decision Support Center of the Council of Ministers

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Mr. Osama El-Gohary, Assistant Prime Minister and Head of the Information and Decision Support Center at the Council of Ministers, signed a joint cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, and the Information and Decision Support Center of the Council of Ministers regarding facilitating the use of postgraduate students at the Faculty of Law for the services of the National Portal for Egyptian Legislation, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim El-Shafei, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Yassin Tharwat El-Shazly, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dehom, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamdy is a professor and head of the Civil Law Department and director of the French Division at the Faculty of Law, and a Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Faculty of Law.

   
   

The signing of the protocol was also attended by the Information and Decision Support Center of the Council of Ministers: Mr. Osama Al-Fayoumi, Head of the Information Technology Hub, and Mr. Tamer Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Legislation Gate, and Dr. Marwa Zain, General Supervisor of the National Portal, Egyptian Legislation.

In his speech during the signing ceremony, which took place remotely via video conference technology, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, stated that the seventeenth goal of sustainable development focuses on revitalizing global partnerships, which is consistent with the vision of the Ain Shams University administration of the need to implement institutional partnerships with a focus on local partnerships with major government agencies and institutions and civil society institutions, pointing out that the university works out of the complete conviction that academic study alone does not suffice, but rather an openness to the local and international community, which has become an indispensable necessity.

He added that this cooperation provides an institutional framework to benefit from the academic expertise at Ain Shams University, directed by the necessity of evaluating the terms and steps of this cooperation and allocating sessions and workshops in cooperation with the Information Center in all conferences of the Faculty of Law to analyze and evaluate the outputs of this cooperation and follow it up continuously.

On his part, Mr. Osama El-Gohary expressed his happiness at signing this protocol, pointing out that the Information and Decision Support Center needs to benefit from the academic expertise of Ain Shams University in preparing reports and providing studies and legal advice that enrich the outputs of the Information and Decision Support Center in all fields.

   
   

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, indicated that the protocol allows postgraduate students to enter the legislative portal for viewing and research at a special and exclusive discount for Ain Shams University, which is an important advantage for any scientific researcher who enables the speed and accuracy of completing research projects, as well as providing adequate technical and technical presentations to professors and students of the Faculty of Law, University Ain Shams; To introduce the services of the legal portal for Egyptian legislation and the services it provides and its capabilities, and to review ways of using them to facilitate the effective and efficient performance of their work and study tasks.

He added that the cooperation aims for the Information and Decision Support Center to provide electronic accounts for the legal portal of Egyptian legislation for students to search in legal databases of provisions and legislation and benefit from the services of the legal library at a symbolic price ranging from 15 to 20% of the original value.

The cooperation also provides access to legal translation services, preparation of legal documents, and research assistance, in addition to providing electronic copies of doctoral and master's theses for postgraduate students to be available on the legal portal website.

As well as nominating a number of professors to participate in the various activities and events of the portal and to open horizons of cooperation in all the awareness activities of the portal, which aim to spread legal awareness in Egyptian society.
