An introductory workshop at the Faculty of Agriculture on the joint program between the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University and the Technical University of Berlin

Under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Prof. Walaa Abdel-Ghani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Hisham Al-Hariri, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club at the Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, organized an introductory workshop on the joint program between the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Ain Shams University (I Hub) and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Berlin Technical University, in coordination with Prof. Lamia Mustafa Radwan, Coordinator of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club at the Faculty of Agriculture, in the presence of Dr. Islam Adly, supervisor of student activity at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Ms. Nora Kempemann, Head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department, as coordinator of the cooperation project with the Technical University of Berlin "Internationale Program Digital".

         
   
         

In his speech, Prof. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty, greeted the audience, and spoke about innovation and entrepreneurship, and that Egypt was a beacon to the world with its children over the past ages.

He pointed out that technology aims to serve humanity and rebuild the earth in order to reduce the suffering of others, especially the suffering of poor countries.

His Excellency hoped that the starting point would be from the agricultural field, because it is the basis for stability and on the basis of which civilizations are built.

Prof. Walaa Abdel-Ghani, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, confirmed that the aim of the workshop is to give an opportunity to learn about modern technology in Germany in all fields and scientific innovations.

He pointed out that the workshop is a good initiative to cooperate with Germany and learn about their innovations and all the progress they have reached, especially with regard to agricultural technology, as it is a leading country in agricultural technology. Certainly, our students and faculty members at the Faculty of Agriculture will benefit greatly from this scientific exchange with the Western world. Regarding agricultural technology to raise scientific and cultural awareness among students and faculty members.

He added that the means of communication have become easier for the current generations to benefit much more than the previous generations, and he recommended that students upgrade their language to make it easier for them to benefit from Western sciences.

For her part, Prof. Lamia Mostafa Abdel Moneim Radwan, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, said that the Innovation Development Unit is looking for complex problems to reach radical solutions using modern technologies, pointing out that the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University is in addition to the efforts of the higher education system to support the idea of entrepreneurship and encourage innovators of university students and provide a platform that absorbs the energies of young people, discovers their talents, refines them, nurtures them, and directs them in the right path that serves the locomotive of national development.

         
   
         

During the meeting, Dr. Islam Adly presented the activities of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the opportunities and services provided by the Center, and how to take advantage of these opportunities.

Professor Nora Kempemann lectured on the history of the Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Berlin, where the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University partnered with the Center of Entrepreneurship at Technische Universität Berlin through the ISI4 Egypt program to provide market-related activities for researchers and startups.

Dr. Islam Adly explained that the ISI4 Egypt program is considered the ideal solution for economic growth by focusing on the activities and importance of Industry 4.0 through educational activities for all researchers and startups for a developed future, the first of which is a joint conference between the two universities at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building at Ain Shams University on December 10 and 11, 2022 AD. Clarifying how to register electronically to attend the activities of the conference or the various provided workshops, or presenting a poster for presenting the research product to a faculty member or the Faculty’s supporting body.

At the end of the workshop, Prof. Noura made an inspection tour inside the Faculty of Agriculture, accompanied by Prof. Walaa Abdel Ghani, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
