International Day for People with Special Needs at the Faculty of Girls

Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls at Ain Shams University, witnessed the celebration of the International Day for Persons with Special Needs, which was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Girls on Thursday, corresponding to 12/8/2022, at the Faculty Theater, in cooperation with the Hope City Foundation, directed by Dr. Amal Ezzat.

         
   
         

This is under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, Prof. Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The day started with many different awareness lectures, which are early diagnosis:

Prof. Dr. Ihab Ragai (Professor of Pediatric Neurology and Genetics at the National Research Center), Auditory Integration and Autism.

Prof. Dr. Amani Shalaby (Professor of Audiology – at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University), attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity in children with ADHD.

Prof. Asst. Dr. Nashwa Abdel Moneim Abdullah (Acting Chairman of the Department of Psychology).

Learning difficulties in children Dr. Hana Ahmed Attia Mahsoub Hilal (teacher in the Department of Child Education).

Cerebral visual impairment Dr. Amal Ezzat, Consultant for Rehabilitation of Children with Multiple Disabilities - Language and Speech Therapist.

Then, various musical performances were presented by the children who are being trained and rehabilitated in the institution, with the participation of the institution's training team.

The celebration was attended by many professors, faculty staff, and faculty students.

         
   
         

The Dean of the Faculty stated that the celebration of the International Day for People with Special Needs aims to raise awareness of disability issues and support people with disabilities in order to ensure and promote their rights within society, as well as empower them for comprehensive and sustainable development, in addition to highlighting the latest developments in the field of disability, especially in the scientific field and the academic.

On the sidelines of the celebration, an exhibition of various handicrafts for children with disabilities was held, in which many products were presented:

Decoupage - carpets - accessories, plants, and handicrafts that won the admiration of the audience.
