The Egypt Award for Government Excellence announces the start of the second phase of implementing the internal awards system

The Egypt Award for Government Excellence announced the start of the implementation of the second phase of internal awards for 10 public universities, including the universities of Aswan, Ain Shams, Banha, Damietta, Port Said, Alexandria, Menoufia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Suez Canal, Beni Suef, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities.

Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the launch of the second phase of the internal awards system comes as a continuation of the process of internal excellence and work on implementing the internal awards system in the country’s administrative system with the aim of deepening the culture of excellence and enhancing the competitive spirit, to contribute to the development of human capabilities and bring about a quantum leap in institutional performance. And work to qualify the entities to participate in the national award "Egypt Award for Government Excellence" in the categories of government faculties, government innovative initiatives, and work teams.

         
   
         

For his part, Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, stressed the keenness of the award management to provide all means of technical support necessary to implement the internal awards system in a way that contributes to spreading and deepening the culture of excellence and achieving transparency, governance, and integrity of the award stages, through the formation of an approved internal award department in the university according to the competence model of the internal awards department teams, conducting personal interviews to approve members of the internal awards management teams in universities, presenting a workshop on how to manage the system, and providing guiding evidence, in addition to training internal residents in each university on evaluation standards, providing independent experts, as well as managing and implementing award arbitration processes with the participation of the Supreme Council of Universities.

It is noteworthy that the second phase of the internal awards system includes 10 public universities divided into two groups, and the award management has completed conducting personal interviews for the internal awards management work teams at the universities of the first group, namely, Aswan, Ain Shams, Banha, Damietta, Port Said, coordination is underway to conduct interviews with the second group of universities.

It is worth noting that among the institutions that took the initiative to participate in the first phase of the internal awards are the universities of Assiut, South Valley, Mansoura, Tanta, and Suez, in addition to service units that are mechanized by real estate registration and documentation.
