Higher education and scientific research: a research call for proposals in the areas of one health

The Science, Technology, and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF) announced the opening of the first research call for the “One Health” grant, in the implementation of the cooperation protocol concluded with the Ministry of Health and Population. With the aim of supporting research and innovations that contribute to strengthening the interdependence between the sectors (medical, veterinary, and environmental).

This call aims to develop research outputs related to the areas of combating the infectious, epidemic, and endemic diseases, up to the semi-industrial level, thus contributing to the development of the national industry. Enhancing environmental sustainability and improving human and animal health, to have a direct return on the system for monitoring and controlling the infectious, epidemic, and endemic diseases, this call comes within the Commission's strategy on the importance of benefiting from scientific expertise in Egyptian universities, agencies, and research institutes, and qualifying researchers to obtain distinguished and applicable research outputs.

The terms of the appeal include that the commission finances projects of multiple categories over a two-year period, including a funding category of up to 3 million Egyptian pounds for research proposals submitted by one research entity, and a funding category of up to 7 million Egyptian pounds for research proposals submitted by two research entities or more.

The deadline for receiving research proposals is February 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
