A delegation from the British University of UCL hosted by Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, received Dr. Nora Colten, Director of the Global Business School for Health (GBSH) at UCL English University in London, within the framework of joint cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Dr. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals and Prof. Dr. Sherawat Al-Ahmadi, Director of the Expatriates Department and Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, head of the endoscopy department at the Women's Hospital, and Dr. Tamer Emara, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Sherine Fawaz.

         
   
         

The meeting aimed to discuss the establishment of joint scientific degrees in the field of health care and medical technology.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, confirmed the keenness of Ain Shams University on continuous communication and cooperation with various institutions, houses of expertise, and international bodies working in the field of health care, stressing that we need to innovate and develop all the time and learn about everything new.

He reviewed the medical capabilities possessed by Ain Shams University, Ain Shams Medical City, and its hospitals, which succeeded in eliminating waiting lists, pointing out that the efforts of Ain Shams University in the medical field are in line with the efforts of the Egyptian state to upgrade the health system as a whole.

He referred to the health insurance system in Egypt and its achievements, especially in light of the steady population increase and the global health challenges we face.

Dr. Nora Colten, Director of the Global Business School for Public Health at UCL University in Britain, expressed her happiness in cooperation with Ain Shams University and indicated that UCL University was founded in 1826 in the heart of London, and it is a multidisciplinary university, with more than 13,000 employees and 42,000 students from 150 different countries, and that University Methodology Creative thinking, through a progressive approach to teaching and research, academics and students, strive to make an impact on real-world problems.

   
   

The meeting was followed by a tour of the delegation at Ain Shams University hospitals, then a lecture by Dr. Nora Colten at the Training and Development Center at the university hospitals at Ain Shams University.

And Prof. Dr. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals, gave a lecture on Ain Shams University Hospitals and the distinguished medical services they provide.

Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Executive Director of University Hospitals and Director of the Infection Control Unit, gave a lecture on the health services provided by Ain Shams University, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to what was presented by Prof. Dr. Wajida Anwar, Professor, Department of Public Health and Community Medicine, Health Services, Ain Shams University.
