Performing operations on the aorta for medical cases in cooperation between a medical team from Brompton and Harefield Hospitals in London

The medical team from Brompton and Harefield Hospitals in London finished their visit to the Heart Academy at Ain Shams University Hospitals.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Al-Ghannam, Director of the Heart Academy Hospital, confirmed that the patients are in good condition, and that among the cases, two cases underwent complex surgery.

Dr. Sameh Samir, professor of cardiology, confirmed that three operations were performed on three cases in the cardiac catheterization department, and two cases of vessels, and they are now recovering.

   
   

At the end of the visit, a meeting was held for the two medical teams, attended by Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Acting Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, Prof. Mustafa Abdel-Azim, Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic and Thoracic Surgery, and a group of faculty members in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, and a staff team Participating nurses who were part of the medical team for surgical cases and catheterization cases.

The visit comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol concluded between Ain Shams University and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals in London, through which Ain Shams University aimed to establish the first center specialized in aortic surgery in the region.

It is worth noting that the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals are among the world's leading heart and lung hospitals, which recently joined the Guy and St Thomas Trust, which currently brings together the three health centers specializing in the field of heart at the global level.
