The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is offering research grants through the Center of Excellence in Energy by February 10

The Center of Excellence in Energy in Egypt funded by the United States Agency for International Development and through the Research and Knowledge Exchange Program, which is one of the programs of the center that is implemented by the American Arizona State University and is located within Ain Shams University in the Faculty of Engineering and in partnership with the universities of Ain Shams, Mansoura and Aswan, receives innovative applied research which meets the needs of the energy sector in Egypt, as it submits proposed research until its deadline of February 10th.

The center seeks to find applied research that focuses on energy-related fields that directly affect the economy in the energy sector, industry, utilities and manpower in Egypt, through the development of multiple specialized approaches to find innovative solutions in this field, provided that a faculty member from one of the aforementioned Egyptian universities participates in all these researches, in addition to the students participating in the research and a faculty member from Arizona State University, with a partnership to direct the research submitted by the energy industry such as the supporting companies, the government and civil society to support the submitted research and its applications.

Research projects must cover one of the main objectives highlighted in Egypt's National Energy Roadmap in order to achieve its 2035 climate goals, which are as follows:

- Climate, energy, environmental interdependence, sustainable energy

- Electric cars

- Energy efficiency and energy automation

- Sustainable energy

- Power system

- Energy policy, regulations and energy transition

- The relationship between energy and water
