The end of the activities of the semi-final stage of the innovation competition in biotechnology in its second session 2023 at Ain Shams University

Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the activities of the semi-final stage of the innovation competition in biotechnology in its second session 2023, organized by Ain Shams University in cooperation with the Department of Veterinary Services of the Armed Forces, ended in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Major General, Veterinarian, Ahmed Mohamed El Shazly, Director of the Veterinary Services Department of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General, Veterinarian, Mohamed Ibrahim Shendi, Commander of the Veterinary Hospital for Treatment and Laboratory Analysis in the Armed Forces, Prof. Ayman Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, and Prof. Abdel Bari Prince, Head of Competition and Professor of Biotechnology at Cairo University.

The competition is a window for students and graduates from all scientific and medical faculties to present scientific solutions to various research problems.

         
   
         
         
   
         

The competition activities started with a speech of Prof. Muhammad Ayman Saleh, during which he welcomed the guests, students and researchers from various Egyptian universities, then stressed the need for cooperation between the Egyptian state institutions represented in the Egyptian universities and the Egyptian armed forces.

He concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of biotechnology in achieving Egypt's Vision 2023 and the role it plays in building the economies of countries.

The competing students presented solutions to multiple problems using various biotechnology techniques through presentations followed by a discussion by the arbitration committee, which consisted of professors in Egyptian universities from the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Biotechnology and the Faculty of Medicine of the Armed Forces.

         
   
         
         
   
         

The competitors showed ingenuity in using technology and presenting ideas to provide solutions that give hope that Egypt's scientific and research future will witness scientists from the future generation who are able to use the scientific method in solving the country's problems.

During the competition, many Ain Shams University students and researchers presented many important topics supported by the university through the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center as one of the distinguished centers of Ain Shams University.

One hundred students and researchers competed in the semi-final stage, and the arbitration committee reached a decision to escalate the number of 25 competitors to the final stage, which will be held next Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Misr University for Modern Sciences and Arts.
