Within the framework of a series of weekly scientific symposiums held by the faculty during the academic year 2022/2023, the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Ain Shams University, organized a symposium on accelerating clinical trial approvals for drugs used to treat cancer.
And that is under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University and Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Maha Nasr is a professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy and Director of the Department of International Relations and Academic Cooperation in the faculty, and in the presence of Prof. Khaled Abu Shanab, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
Ahmed Hamed, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota and Director of Clinical Development at AbbVie Company in the United States of America, Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Ain Shams University, and a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Ain Shams University, Class of 2003, gave a lecture at the symposium.
The symposium dealt with information about modern drugs for the treatment of cancer that have been approved by the FDA, and samples of published research on the efficiency and effectiveness of these treatments and the different steps that were taken during clinical trials, in the presence of a number of faculty staff, teaching assistants and students of the faculty.
