The third electronic meeting at the Faculty of Girls entitled "Interdisciplinary Research and Studies".

Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, opened the third electronic forum of the Academic Publishing Unit at the Faculty of Girls, entitled: " Interdisciplinary Research and Studies", which was held on Monday and Tuesday, February 20-21, 2023 AD, headed by Prof. Amira Ahmed Youssef, Dean of the Faculty and Prof. Hanan Muhammad Al-Shaer, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Rapporteur of the Forum.

Prof. Ayman Saleh, in his speech, highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary -studies in establishing a knowledge economy, and that interdisciplinary research is a major engine for applied research that leads to economic and societal growth.

         
   
         

And Prof. Amira Ahmed Youssef, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed in her speech the importance of interdisciplinary studies and the need for them to keep pace with the development and knowledge momentum in the various fields of science.

Prof. Hanan Al-Shaer, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, referred to the interest of the Faculty of Girls in interdisciplinary studies and research, as it took the lead in submitting proposals for two postgraduate programs on interdisciplinary Egyptian-African studies and women's studies.

         
   
         

In the opening session of the forum, the result of the award for the best research published in the journals of the Scientific Publishing Unit for the academic year 2021-2022 was announced, as part of the Faculty’s efforts to support and encourage scientific research at the local and Arab levels, and in order to encourage researchers to excel in their original scientific production published in the Faculty’s scientific journals.

The forum included six sessions in which professors from various disciplines and various Egyptian, Arab and foreign universities participated. The sessions of the forum were held remotely through the Zoom application, and some of them were in the conference hall of the Faculty of Girls.

The themes of the forum included the concept of interdisciplinary studies, the future of interdisciplinary studies in the humanities, social sciences and basic sciences, models of interdisciplinary studies programs and international experiences in the field of interdisciplinary research.
