Within the framework of the community service and environmental development sector at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, in preserving lives, facilities, public safety, rehabilitation and training for all concerned groups with high skill and efficiency in dealing with the risks to which people are exposed, and under the auspices of Prof. Safaa Shehata, Acting Dean of the Faculty, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Department at the university, through Brigadier General Hatem Saber, Director of the Security and Civil Defense Department at the university,
Under the supervision of Prof. Alaa El-Din Abdel-Halim Mohamed Farag, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Education organized a distinguished training workshop on civil defense and civil protection from risks. It was co-presented by Mr. Abdel-Ghaffar Mohamed Fouad, a specialist in the field of civil defense and civil protection at the university, and Mr. Ali Hamada Abd al-Rahman, Nabil Bebawi Boulos from the faculty’s civil defense team, in the presence of a large number of students, faculty staff, and employees at the faculty, and the training was in the form of various working groups.
The workshop aimed to introduce the importance of enhancing the preventive aspect among students, faculty staff and employees and its role in preserving lives, property and public safety through the presence of fire extinguishing devices in nearby workplaces and
distinguished training on their use, as well as knowing how to deal with different types of fires and appropriate extinguishing means for both of them .
Referring to the importance of conducting periodic maintenance of fire extinguishers and alarm devices by the civil defense team in the college or the competent authorities. The training workshop came out with a set of recommendations that focused on the need for awareness and education of public safety, civil defense, planning, and considering all means of prevention as very necessary to prevent accidents or disasters before they occur and to achieve public security and safety, and the importance of having extinguishers and appropriate early warning devices of all kinds to deal with all types of emergencies. The course included practical exercises for the participants to ensure the achievement of the required skills in dealing with risks and the correct use of fire extinguishers of various types.
At the end of the training workshop, many photos were taken and the lecturers were honored for their distinguished efforts. At the end, the importance of protecting human resources and providing safety and security was emphasized, which is a priority for community service and environmental development to achieve the mission of the faculty and university in the societal aspects to reduce the rate of risks and damages and achieve high rates of safety And security at all levels.
