The completion of the first phase of the training program with specialized courts

The first phase of the training program at the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, which was held in cooperation with specialized courts, ended. This is under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, where three lectures were held on the jurisdiction of the court and the most important legislation related to it.

Moving on to the second stage, in order to select students for training, we announce the research mission, as follows:

First: sending two abstracts of two of the three lectures held in the faculty auditorium, with no more than 250 words for one abstract.

Second: Answering the following question in no more than 400 words:

The legal protection of transactions and trademarks is one of the important legislative matters that the Egyptian legislator has given special attention to. Accordingly, and in the light of the provisions of Law No. 82 of 2002 on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, compare the trade name and the trademark? What are the legal protections for them? Explaining aspects of well-known trademark protection?

Moreover, and in light of the provisions of the Information Technology Crimes Law No. 175 of 2018: Did any of the articles stipulated in the law add protection to any of the intellectual property rights in the digital environment?

Finally, in light of the provisions of the Law of Establishing Economic Courts No. 120 of 2008: specify the competent departments to consider intellectual property disputes? And the competent departments to consider information technology crimes?

The following laws are attached for your reference:

1- Law No. 82 of 2002 on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights.

2- Law No. 175 of 2018 on combating information technology crimes

3- Law No. 120 of 2008 establishing economic courts.
