The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the opening of the door to apply for the Arab Youth Hackathon Anti-Corruption Competition, which targets young software developers and information technology enthusiasts in Arab countries, especially Egypt.
The organization of the competition comes within the framework of the global initiative for education and youth empowerment in the field of combating corruption, in cooperation between the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Qatari Administrative Control and Transparency Authority and Microsoft.
The competition consists of two phases:
Phase One: The five-day online boot camp, which will be held from August 27 to 31, 2023, where participants will receive training on the following topics:
1- Transparency in public procurement.
2- Encouraging and protecting whistleblowers.
3- Protecting sports from corruption.
4- Reporting corruption related to water management.
5- Enhancing the ability of the private sector to withstand corruption.
6- Innovation in education.
The second stage: a competition that will be held in Doha for five days, from 10 to 14 September 2023.
The most important conditions of the competition:
1- The contestants must be between 18 and 30 years old.
2- They must be fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English.
3- They should have skills in programming languages and at least some experience in one of the development technologies.
4- To have knowledge of the main technology development platforms.
5- They should have a laptop.
6- It is possible to apply as an individual participant or as a participant in a team of up to 6 members.
Note that registration will be from March 6 to April 28, 2023.
