A graduation ceremony was held at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, for the December 2022 batch of Egyptian and international doctors from the Egyptian Fellowship, under the supervision of Prof. Hossam Hosni, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Health Specialties (Egyptian Fellowship).
The celebration was witnessed by Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Prof. Mohamed Latif, former Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, Prof. Hala Suwaid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector at Ain University Shams, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of the University Hospitals, a number of heads of departments of Ain Shams University Hospitals, faculty staff, leaders from the Ministry of Health and Population, undersecretaries of the Ministry, and a group of professors experts in medical education and heads of scientific councils, in addition to some medical attaches from various embassies Arabic.
In his speech during the celebration, Prof. Hossam Hosni thanked Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, for hosting this ceremony and holding it on the land of the ancient university, noting that today is the result of joint efforts of the professors, members of scientific councils from various universities in Egypt, and all the gentlemen working in Egyptian fellowship in different departments.
In his speech, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness that the Faculty of Medicine hosted this celebration, pointing out that this day represents the fruitful cooperation between the medical sectors in Egypt, represented by the faculties of medicine and the trainers and trainees from all medical sectors, with the aim of graduating a trained doctor who is able to treat the Egyptian patient with efficiency comparable to international standards.
During the ceremony, the provincial coordinators were honored for their efforts in the previous period, and the top three doctors from various specialties in 58 specializations, including students from sister countries, were also honored.
It is noteworthy that the Egyptian fellowship includes 70 medical and nursing specialties, and there are 18,650 Egyptian and Arab trainees in various specializations, and within the framework of this batch, 1,540 doctors have been graduated.
