The President of Ain Shams University honors the expatriate sector coordinators in the faculties for their efforts during the Festival of Peoples' Cultures

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, honored the coordinators of the expatriate sector in seventeen of the university’s faculties, in appreciation of their active participation and efforts in organizing the People’s Cultures Festival for the year 2023, in addition to a number of faculty staff and workers for their effective contribution during the festival, in the presence of Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, and Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of International Students and Mobility Office

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini confirmed that the expatriate file at Ain Shams University has witnessed remarkable development over the past few years, praising the effective role played by Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady in the renaissance of the sector and the work to achieve the aspirations of the university in this file with the participation of faculty coordinators.

His Excellency stressed that the development of the file of international students has become an inevitable necessity, not a luxury, due to its importance in the international classifications of universities, indicating that the Department of International Students at Ain Shams University seeks to provide all means of support for international students and work to overcome any obstacles they may face.

He added that the expatriate file is of great importance to the Ministry of Higher Education, and a meeting was held that brought together the Minister of Higher Education with the heads of various universities

A workshop was also held in the presence of the Director of the Expatriate Department at Ain Shams University to discuss ways to develop this important file, indicating that the file is one of the soft forces and cultural exchange represents a unique cultural experience for the university and students.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini concluded his speech by praising the Festival of Peoples’ Cultures organized by the International Relations Sector this year, with a distinguished presence of ambassadors and diplomats, and participants from many countries, praising the role played by the coordinators of the expatriate sector in the various faculties for foreign students who represent ambassadors to their countries, calling on them to do more effort.

For her part, Prof. Shahira Samir thanked the President of Ain Shams University for his continuous support for the international relations sector and his transfer of the experiences of international universities in this regard.

She also praised the performance of Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady in the expatriate sector and her efforts to overcome any obstacles facing them through a harmonious work team.

During the meeting, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady explained the role of the work team members and representatives of the sector in the various faculties and departments and those responsible for the different countries, praising the tireless effort made by the team over the course of three consecutive years.

She added that the sector's work team is working with great effort and has contributed to preparing the "Study in Egypt" platform during the Corona pandemic, making special reports for each college and translating them into three languages French, Arabic, and English, in addition to preparing a booklet for student programs and activities, expressing her gratitude for the achievements made by the work team in the sector in the last period.
