The activities of the ninth Young Researchers Forum, at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, were concluded, under the title "Modern Orientations in the Study of Language, Translation and Literature", under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the College, and the supervision of Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.
The activities of the forum lasted for two days, during which 6 scientific sessions were held, as well as a session for the innovation and entrepreneurship unit at the faculty. The sessions witnessed important and effective discussions on various literary, linguistic, and translation issues, with the participation of faculty staff and postgraduate students, in addition to participants from Cairo University and translators at the United Nations.
At the conclusion of the forum, Prof. Salwa Rashad appreciated the activities of the forum and the scientific and intellectual richness witnessed by the sessions. Her Excellency confirmed the keenness of the Faculty of Al-Alsun to organize such events on a regular basis, as it provides opportunities for exchanging opinions and visions and devising new research ideas for the benefit of the scientific research process in the faculty and the researchers themselves.
And Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research declared the forum’s recommendations, which consisted of several points:
- Overcoming obstacles to publishing translated works
- Organizing a competition on the sidelines of the forum for the best-submitted research in terms of its relevance to societal issues and applicability
- Dedicating a session for innovation on the sidelines of the forum, with the participation of the Faculty's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit
Allocating pages of Al-Alsun magazine for translation to translate popular literature in various languages
- Intensifying cooperation with the corresponding faculties and attracting researchers there to participate in the forum for the purpose of exchanging experiences and achieving scientific and knowledge enrichment.
