The Faculty of Al-Alsun launches the activities of Environment Week

The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, continues the activities of Environment Week, under the auspices of Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Prof. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, where he hosted in his first seminar on environmental culture, Prof. Abdel-Masih Semaan, Professor at the Faculty of Environmental Studies at the University, and rapporteur of the Geography and Environment Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture. The title of the symposium was "Egypt after cop27".

During the symposium, he emphasized that Egypt, during the “Cop27 conference” contributed realistically to lifting the injustice in poor and developing countries, through the establishment of the Loss and Damage Fund, for compensation, as poor and developing countries are exposed to environmental injustice, as their economies have become unable to deal with climate change. It has realistically contributed to alleviating the injustice of poor and developing countries, through the establishment of the Loss and Damage Fund, for compensation.

And he stressed that the success of the conference in issuing a decision to establish the fund is a historic victory, as we succeeded in imposing that initiative on the part of large countries and working to establish an early warning center in developing countries with the help of developed countries, pointing out that the Egyptian state has taken a large number of measures at the local level to preserve the environment and protect it from human and natural damage.

In conclusion, Prof. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, honored Prof. Abdel-Masih Semaan and handed him a certificate of appreciation for his enrichment of the activities of the cultural week of the sector.
