The Minister of Culture and the Italian Deputy Minister of Culture inaugurate the Egyptian pavilion of the Venice International Architecture Biennale, which is held in cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering and the University of Reggio Calabria, Italy

Dr. Neven Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, Dr. Vittorio Sgarbi, Italian Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Michele De Bari, Governor of Venice, and Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion participating in the Venice International Architecture Biennale in its session Eighteen 2023, in the presence of Dr. Heba Youssef, Director of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome, Counselor Rania Hamid, Deputy Egyptian Consul in Milan, and representatives of the National Organization for Urban Harmony "Dr. Happy Hosni, Dr. Heidi Shalaby, Eng. Rania Othman And the teamwork of the artistic project representing Egypt in this round, which is titled NiLab, "Dr. Ahmed Sami, Dr. Ghada Farouk, Dr. Moataz Samir, Dr. Marina Tornatora, and Dr. Vittorio Omaro."

         
   
         

Dr. Neven Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, inspected the Egyptian pavilion participating in the activities of the 18th session of the "Venice International Architecture Biennale", viewed its contents, and listened to a full explanation of the details of the project, which bears the name "NiLab", which is The winning project of the competition put forward by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, last year, through the National Organization for Urban Harmony, headed by Engineer Mohamed Abu Saada.

The project is a laboratory for developing ideas and projects on the Nile River, in the form of six main topics: "nature, urbanization, agriculture, infrastructure, industry, and antiquities" through eighteen ideas for projects on Nile River.

The Minister of Culture met the work team of students and project supervisors, and congratulated them on the excellence of their idea and the accuracy of its implementation.

         
   
         

She appreciated the international cooperation efforts in the project through the bilateral Egyptian-Italian cooperation, in cooperation with international universities. She was invited to participate in the project, expressing her aspirations for activating more cooperation to serve our various issues.

It is noteworthy that the Venice Architecture Biennale is one of the most important exhibitions that represent contemporary architecture events, where the participating countries compete to show their best architectural works, so that each country is allocated a pavilion in which the works of its participating artists are displayed.

The Biennale Awards grant international fame and merit to its recipients, which is reflected in the winners and the countries they represent, and Egypt is one of the first countries to participate in the Biennale.
