A workshop on the day following the training course for exams practicing the profession for representatives of dental faculties in Egyptian universities at Ain Shams University

On Thursday, May 25, the activities of the second day of the training course for the practice exams for representatives of dental faculties in Egyptian universities, hosted by Ain Shams University, were launched, as Dr. Karem Al-Batouti, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, said that today is a practical training for what was taken in theory on the first day.

He added that the workshop is for the rehabilitation of faculty members in all public, private, and private universities, and Al-Azhar to prepare for exams to practice the profession in dentistry, indicating that the Measurement and Calendar Unit in Ain Shams Dentistry participates in the workshop by training dentists from various faculties of Egypt on measurement and calendar systems and on methods of setting questions.

The workshop also introduces assessment methods, describes good assessment tools, demonstrates the extent to which the assessment tool is aligned with appropriate learning outcomes, sheds light on the types of MCQs, guidelines for drafting Single Best Answer (SBA) elements, and guidelines for building short essays. In addition to using the SBA to fit the assessment of various competencies.

Prof. Gehan Salah, a professor at the Faculty of Human Medicine, King Salman University, said that the training workshop is carried out with the cooperation of the Dental Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, the Egyptian Health Council and the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University. The workshop is characterized by the fact that it contains three sub-workshops that are conducted by the trainees, and the works are evaluated by the trainees as well, and then by the trainers.

It is noteworthy that the training comes under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and the workshop under the supervision of Prof. Tarek Salah El-Din, Head of the Dentistry Sector at the Supreme Council of Universities and Emeritus Professor of Dentistry in Ain Shams, Prof. Mohamed Latif, CEO of the Health Council, Prof. Mohamed Diaa, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, Prof. Karim Al-Batouti, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Education and Student Affairs, Ain Shams University, Prof. Ehab Kamel, Advisor to the Minister of Health for Training Affairs, and Prof. Gehan Salah, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, King Salman University.

The workshop was attended by 115 faculty staff from all public, private, national universities and Al-Azhar University.

At the end of the workshop, Prof. Karim Al-Batouti, Vice Dean of Dentistry, Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, thanked and appreciated the trainers in the Measurement and Orthodontic Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, due to their great effort, keen on the success of this course to graduate in the honorable manner, and they are Dr. Nermin Sami, Dr. Ahmed Amr, Dr. Tarek Yehia, Dr. Dalia Sharif, Dr. Ola Ezzat, Dr. Rania Osama, and Dr. Marwa Salah.
