Discussing the graduation projects of the professional diploma students specializing in remote sensing in partnership between Ain Shams University and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences

Prof. Ayman Salih, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Islam Abul-Maged, Head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, witnessed the discussion of graduation projects for students of the fourth batch of the professional diploma specialized in remote sensing and geographic information systems in partnership between Ain University Shams and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, in the presence of Prof. Rasha Bondok, Coordinator of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Atta, Coordinator of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences with a diploma.

         
   
         

In his speech, Prof. Ayman Saleh emphasized the importance of the joint diploma between Ain Shams University and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences in graduating distinguished students who are able to compete in the labor market, pointing to the importance of studying remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems to contribute to finding solutions to problems that facing Egyptian society.

         
   
         

He stressed the importance of cooperation with the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences in several fields, whether joint diplomas or scientific research and joint projects.

         
   
         

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Islam Abul-Magd, head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, emphasized that Ain Shams University is a strategic and scientific partner of the authority, adding that today's meeting is one of the fruits of this partnership, and for the fourth time in a row, qualified students are graduated to compete in the local and regional labor market. and international.

         
     
         

His Excellency explained that Ain Shams University and the Authority have had joint cooperation relations for a while, represented in the cooperation between the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University in the manufacture of small satellites, as well as cooperation between the Authority and the Faculty of Computing and Information at Ain Shams University in building computational models and scientific research. Joint, as well as cooperation in organizing joint conferences and workshops, the latest of which was the authority’s participation in the eleventh international conference of Ain Shams University entitled Knowledge Economy for a Better Life.

         
     
         

The discussion of the graduation projects of the fourth class of professional diploma students specializing in remote sensing and geographic information systems was attended by Prof. Noha Donia, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at Ain Shams University, Prof. Ahmed Al Shouki, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archeology for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Alaa El Din Abdel Halim Vice Dean of the Fculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University, Prof. Karim Morcos, Head of the Geology Department, Faculty of Science, Ain University, Prof. Abdel Aziz Bilal, Head of the Agricultural Applications and Land Uses Division of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, and Prof. Ayman Nasr, Prof. Sayed Saeed, and the heads of the scientific divisions of the authority.

The Diploma Department honored the success partners for this year, and they are:

The first student in the third class, and the student who won the best graduation project, was also honored who is Nour El-Din Mohamed Fouda, Teaching Assistant, Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University

Two projects were discussed:

The project of using remote sensing data in risk control and management of cultural heritage sites in Historic Islamic Cairo, Egypt, a case study.

and a project to assess the impacts resulting from human activities on environmental sustainability in Damietta Governorate using satellite data.
