Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated the activities of the eighth annual scientific conference of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Molecular Imaging at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Tarek Youssef Executive Director of University Hospitals.
The eighth session of the conference this year, which lasts for two days, is chaired by Prof. Mohamed Abul-Huda, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology and Treasurer of the Egyptian Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Prof. Sahar El-Feki, Head of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Molecular Imaging at the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Gamal Niazi, Professor of Interventional Radiology and Secretary Conference year.
In his speech during the opening of the conference, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, praised the rich agenda of the conference, stressing the importance of focusing on artificial intelligence, especially in the field of radiology.
He called on researchers to exert more efforts in the field of scientific research and publishing, which will reflect positively on the university's position in international rankings.
Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitals touched on Ain Shams Medical City, pointing out that the Diagnostic Radiology Department will be supported by the latest medical devices within the framework of the developments taking place in Ain Shams University hospitals.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of the hospitals, praised the role played by the Department of Radiology at Ain Shams University in providing medical services at the highest international levels, thanking the senior management of the hospitals for the continuous support and keenness to develop and constantly introduce the latest devices.
Prof. Mohamed Abu Al-Huda, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Treasurer of the Egyptian Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, and the conference president indicated that the conference discusses the latest technology and modern scientific methods in the field. The main theme of the conference this year focuses on artificial intelligence and the great role it plays within the field of radiology, which is steadily developing and showcasing the department's efforts to catch up with this group, in addition to presenting the latest research and activities that have been carried out within the department aimed at serving patients.
At the conclusion of the opening session of the conference, the old professors in the department were honored in recognition of their services to patients and the community, and the keenness of the organizing committee of the conference to continue generations.
A lecture was also presented on the achievements of the Radiology Department in the past year in various fields, whether scientific or serving patients.
The opening session was attended by a group of professors from the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Molecular Imaging at Ain Shams Medicine, including Prof. Ahmed Al-Dari, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Prof. Osama Hetta, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Prof. Wahid Tantawy, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Prof. Omar Hussein, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Prof. Alia El-Feki, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Prof. Ahmed Samir, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, Prof. Hani Nasr, Professor of Diagnostic Radiology, in addition to the organizing committee of the conference from the professors of Ain Shams, who are: Prof. Aya Yassin, and Prof. Menna Allah Hatem and Dr. Ahmed Othman and Dr. Ahmed El-Shimi and Dr. Ahmed Abed Rabbo and Dr. Basant Abu Al-Huda and d. Marina Mikhael and Dr. Rana Tarek and Dr. George Ezzat.
It is noteworthy that the conference is being lectured by the largest professors and scientists specialized in the field of diagnostic and interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and more than 13 different clinical specialties from within Ain Shams University and various Egyptian governmental, private universities (Cairo University, Cancer Institute, Mansoura University, Military Medical Academy, Galala University) This was done through 15 scientific sessions with 80 scientific lectures, in addition to two workshops.
It's scheduled that the closing session of the conference will include a special session for young doctors in the form of an educational competition, followed by the conclusion of the conference and the latest recommendations in this field.
