On 6/14, Ain Shams University organized the World Blood Donation Day celebration on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and Prof. Hala Sweed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Prof. Iman Omar, Head of the Clinical Pathology Department, supervising the organization, Asst. Prof. Dalia Diaa El-Din Salem, Assistant Professor in the Clinical Pathology Department and Coordinator of the Voluntary Donation Program Permanent 5 for 1.
On the sidelines of the celebration and as a continuation of the launch of the 5 for 1 program, which aims to provide 5 donors for each patient with blood diseases, kidney failure, tumors, and marrow transplantation, who need continuous blood transfusions from regular donors so that they do not have antibodies that make it difficult to provide safe blood for these patients, and for this purpose, a competition was held with the participation of seven teams from five schools to compete for the best advertising campaign to urge the community to donate and spread the culture of permanent voluntary donation.

The celebration also included speeches highlighting the effective role of blood banks in Ain Shams University Hospitals and the future vision of Ain Shams Medical City.

Certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participating students and cups were handed over to the first three places.
It is worth noting that there is a second part of the competition that depends on applying the advertising campaign that won first place and measuring the return of this application by attracting the largest number of permanent volunteer donors.
