Within the framework of a series of “Meet Our Alumni” seminars held by the Faculty of Pharmacy during the academic year 2022/2023, the Alumni Association organized a symposium entitled “Pharmacovigilance: Overview and career prospects for Pharmacists”, under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University and Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti, Director of Alumni Administration at the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Dina Omar, the Faculty's alumni association official.
The symposium was delivered by Dr. Marwa Amin, co-founder and head of the Pharmacovigilance (PV) department at YAKAZA Pharmaceutical Services. It is worth mentioning that she is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Ain Shams University in 2006.
The symposium dealt with introducing pharmacovigilance and its importance in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing and the stages of its application in Egypt, in the presence of a number of faculty staff and students of the faculty.
