Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, participated in the memorial ceremony of Prof. Ahmed Emad El-Din Rady, Professor of Orthopedics, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and former Minister of Health, which was organized by the Department of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University.
In the presence of Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tariq Youssef The Executive Director of the Hospitals, Prof. Al-Zaher Hassan, Head of the Department of Orthopedics, a group of faculty staff at the Faculty of Medicine and the family of the late Prof. Ahmed Emad El-Din Rady.
Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, started his speech to offer condolences to the family of the deceased, stressing that he is considered one of the most prominent figures in the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, and the medical field at Egypt, and he enjoyed gentleness, strength and the ability to make decisions, and this was evident in all the positions he occupied.
He added that the late Prof. Ahmed Emad El-Din had clear imprints in the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, including his role in obtaining the faculty for quality and first accreditation when he was in charge of the faculty’s deanship, and he also had rich achievements when he assumed the deanship of the faculty, which relied on preponderant thought and organized planning.
The university president also talked about his achievements in the Ministry of Health, and his good relationship with his colleagues, calling for the knowledge of the deceased and his work to be an ongoing charity, stressing that Ain Shams University and the Faculty of Medicine have all the love, gratitude and appreciation for him.
In his speech, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty, said that it is difficult to eulogize a dear person, referring to his strong relationship with the late, which lasted for years.
He emphasized that Professor. Ahmed Emad El-Din is a person who is loved by everyone who deals with him, and he left useful knowledge and ongoing charity, and all his students who always learned from his knowledge will remember him.
Prof. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of the hospitals, talked about his dealings with the late Dr. Ahmed Emad El-Din, during which he felt the slowness in decision-making and the ability to create work teams and create leaders in the clinical field, and professors at the highest level in orthopedics were apprenticed to him.
His Excellency was also distinguished in administrative work, and he was present in hospitals during his deanship of the Faculty of Medicine and was able to draw up plans for hospitals, pointing out that the idea of collecting operations and care stemmed from him and was a proactive idea, which developed into the current system under the leadership of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini.
Prof. Al-Zaher Hassan, Head of the Department of Orthopedics, praised the spirit of his late professor, who described it as a fighting spirit, who loves life, pointing out that they had a long friendship, and he was also his teacher and supervisor of his doctoral dissertation.
He explained that the deceased was a pioneer in the international publication of several topics and that he always relied on team spirit, whether on the scientific or administrative level, and many teams that occupy prestigious positions today worked with him.
He added that Prof. Ahmed Emad El-Din was not late in offering a helping hand and assistance to any party or person, and this day was evident in his memorial ceremony, where his loved ones lamented him with touching words of gratitude to him and in memory of him.
He concluded his speech by wishing mercy to the deceased and making his professional and scientific career in the balance of his good deeds, and inspiring his family with patience.
At the end of the memorial ceremony, an honorary shield presented by the Department of Orthopedics was presented to the family of the late Prof. Ahmed Emad El-Din.
