The great Czech writer Yachim Topol, poet, writer and Czech journalist at Ain Shams University, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mona Fouad, Dean of the Faculty, will visit the conference hall at 10 am on Wednesday, 27 March to meet the students of the Department of the Czech language and to present a lecture on contemporary Czech literature. Prof. Dr. Khalid El-Beltagy, Professor of Language and Translation at the Department stated this.

Yakhim Topol is a poet, writer and Czech journalist born in Prague, Czech capital in 1962. His father, Yusuf Topol, was a poet, playwright and interpreter for Shakespeare, and his mother was the daughter of the famous Czech writer Karel Schultz. Yakhim Topol began his career writing songs for his brother Philip band in the 1970s and early 1980s.

In 1982, Yakhim was co-founder of Violet, and founded the Revolver Review in 1985, which specialized in criticizing modern Czech literature banned from publication by the state. He was one of the most important representatives of Czech postmodern literature in the Czech Republic after the fall of communism in 1889. He received numerous literary awards, including the State Prize in Literature in 2017, and Yaroslav Saifert in 2010, and translated into more than a dozen languages, including English, German and Spanish Norwegian and Arabic.
