The ASU- IHub Center at Ain Shams University receives the activities of the Children's University

The ASU- IHub Center at Ain Shams University received the activities of visiting the Children's University, where 70 children, both male, and female, were hosted, under the auspices of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Shahira Samir Zaki, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, and under the supervision of Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, Deputy Director of the Grants and Projects Department and Coordinator of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, in the presence of Prof. Adel Al-Sabbagh, General Director of the ASU- IHub Center at Ain Shams University, Weam Mahmoud, Executive Director of the ASU- IHub Center, Dr. Islam Adly, Director of Student Activity, ASU-iClub, in coordination with students of the Innovation Clubs Project at Ain Shams University, ASU-iClub, and the Grants and Projects Management Team.

         
   
         

The visit began with an introductory speech for the children by Dr. Weam Mahmoud on innovation and entrepreneurship and the vision of Ain Shams University in spreading this culture and its effective role in creating a conscious generation capable of building the Egyptian state.

It also touched on many concepts and the difference between them to help children understand them, such as the concept of "innovator" and "inventor", citing examples and models of inventors such as Ahmed Zewail and Einstein, two inventors who helped the world develop non-existent sciences and discover different universes and times.

Dr. Weam Mahmoud explained the difference between an entrepreneur and a businessman in a simplified way for the participating children, and that the entrepreneur is the one who has an idea for a start-up company through which life can be facilitated. She introduced the children to business models, identifying problems, developing their solutions, and ways to represent these solutions and formulate them on paper.

         
   
         

Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, Deputy Director of the Grants and Projects Department and Coordinator of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, said that the activities of the Children's University that extend during the months of August and September are a resumption of the sixth stage, adding that the Grants and Projects Department has allocated the auditorium of the Faculty of Science to hand over and receive the children participating in the events, in order to ensure the safety of children and facilitate procedures, then applied workshops were held for children by the students of the ASU-iClub Innovation and Entrepreneurship Clubs project. They are the student Youssef Sameh Badran, the student at the Faculty of Nursing, at Ain Shams University, the student Mustafa Ashraf, the student at the Faculty of Medicine, and the student Abdul Rahman Al-Talib, at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, with the aim of educating students at Child University and developing their skills in the field of education informal creativity, and the discovery of scientific talents and the selection and support of innovators and creators in the early stages of education to develop their abilities and refine their talents.

These workshops also focused on presenting methods for children on how to transform their ideas into small projects by identifying opportunities, goals and steps necessary to achieve them, using their creative ideas and developing independent problem-solving skills. These skills are necessary to motivate children to innovate and qualify them for the labor market.

Fun games were also part of the workshop activities, as these games aim to educate children and communicate information in a simplified manner.
