Children's University visited the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences

Within the framework of the continuation of the activities of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University, and supervising Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, and Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, Deputy Director of the Grants and Projects Department and Coordinator of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Najwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty, received a batch of students from Children's University, in coordination with Dr. Tamer Mostafa, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Mrs. Mona Abdel-Azim, Director of the Alumni Unit, and Mrs. Manar Sultan, Teaching Assistant at the Faculty.

         
   
         

The number of children participating in the visit, which lasted over two consecutive days, was 53 children from the Children’s University. The children were received by the organizers from the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, then they were divided into two groups and distributed to the faculty laboratories to attend the practical workshops divided into three periods in order to explain the curriculum of Children’s University in addition to introducing them to the principles of programming and robotics.

The training was provided by a number of volunteers from among the students and graduates of the faculty who are affiliated with the various student activities.

It is worth noting that these activities are considered a resumption of the sixth phase, which began its activities in early August and extends until the end of September, and that the work team of the Grants and Projects Department at the university is entrusted with all organizational and supervisory procedures, as it is in charge of preserving the safety of children by receiving, and handing over the children to the auditorium of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences and accompanying them throughout the activities in the various faculties to work on overcoming any difficulties facing the coordinators of the faculties, in addition to following up all the logistical, financial and administrative operations of the Children’s University funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
