Within the framework of the activities of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Shahira Samir Zaki, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, and under the supervision of Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, Deputy Director of Grants and Projects Department and Coordinator of the Children's University at Ain Shams University. On Sunday and Monday, September 3 and 4, the Faculty of Specific Education received 70 children from the Children's University, in the presence of Prof. Osama Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, and the presence and coordination of Prof. Amani Hanafi, former dean of the Faculty and coordinator of the Children's University program in the Faculty of Specific Education, and coordinating the grants and projects management team, where Dr. Abdul Rahman Jamal, Assistant Teacher of Sculpture, at the Department of Art Education, presented a cognitive side about Aswan clay and clay sculptural tools, with some of the sculptural works carried out to the students before starting the practical side, where the children used clay and formed free works of each student’s choice.
On the second day of the visit, the students used Aswan clay for 3 hours to sculpt sculptural shapes of their favorite cartoon characters. The day concluded with the children's training in music, led by Prof. Ahmad Salem.
It is worth noting that the Faculty of Specific Education will receive children for two more days next week to conduct various activities, and the Faculty is also training children weekly in the choir, which will be presented at the closing activities of the sixth stage of the Children’s University.
In order to ensure the safety of the children, follow up on the implementation of the program, and facilitate any difficulties faced by the Faculty coordinators, the grants and projects management team received the children in the morning in the auditorium at the Faculty of Science, which is the permanent meeting point, then took them to the Faculty of Specific Education via Ain Shams University buses, and after the end of the school day, they were returned to the meeting place at the Faculty of Science to hand over children to parents.
