Yesterday, the practical training phase for students of the Faculty of Law in Economic Courts began, which comes within the framework of the protocol signed by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Muhammad Safi, with Advisor Ahmed Khairy, Assistant Minister of Justice for Specialized Court Affairs, in the spring of the last academic year.

The work of this phase of training began with a series of workshops at the headquarters of the Cairo Economic Court, where Her Excellency Advisor Hasnaa Shaaban, President of the Cairo Economic Court, received the faculty delegation consisting of students who were chosen after holding a competition in the first phase of training and supervisors of the project from the faculty staff, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Beheiri, Dr. Farid Shaaban and Dr. Basma Adel.

The day included a group of workshops with the advisors responsible for the various sectors, where met with the students, lectured them, and interacted with them, including the Advisor, Tariq Abdel Shakour, head of follow-up, about the establishment of the court and its administrative structure, the Advisor, Mr. Muhammad Shamroukh, about electronic litigation, and the Advisor, Mr. Muhammad Abu Ismail, about the criminal litigation at the court, and Mr. Advisor Ayman Mahran, about the enforcement department at the court.

The first day of training also included attending part of the litigation sessions and a tour of the court, which included the preparation and mediation body and the expert offices.

It is worth noting that the practical training phase was preceded by a training phase conducted by a group of court judges for faculty students in the form of workshops in lecture halls, followed by a research mission after which the students participating in the practical training were selected.

The practical training phase will include dividing the students into small work groups under the supervision of an academic coordinator, and in cooperation with one of the heads of the court’s departments, in order to attend and summarize the proceedings of a group of litigation sessions, after discussion with the judges before and after each session. This stage is followed by a final stage of training, where the judges assign the students participating in the training to a research task related to the reality of disputes before economic courts. At the end of the training, the trainee receives a certificate from the university and the Ministry of Justice for completing the training.

The visit was coordinated by Mr. Advisor Muhammad Al-Zind, who is responsible for managing the training of economic courts and the coordinator of the cooperation protocol with the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, the coordinator of the cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Justice and the director of the international cooperation office at the faculty.
