The Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs witnesses the graduation ceremony of two batches of the credit hour program at the Faculty of Pharmacy

The Faculty of Pharmacy held a graduation ceremony for two batches of credit hour program students in the faculty’s large conference hall 2022/2023, under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Rehab Othman Ahmed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Khaled Abu Shanab, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Rola Milad, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikh, head of the Cairo Pharmacists Syndicate and Prof. Nahid Mortada, Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy and former Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ahmed Abu Zeid, coordinator of the faculty’s credit hour program.

The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Reem Al-Kabriti, Executive Director of the University’s Alumni Associations Department and Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility, at the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector at the University, and Prof. Maha Farouk, former dean of the faculty, and Prof. Rania Hathout, Head of the Department of Pharmaceuticals and Industrial Pharmacy, and Prof. Lamia Al-Wakil, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, Prof. Mahmoud Yassin, Professor, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Prof. Lubna Abdel Aziz, Head of the Analytical Chemistry Department, Dr. Sherihan Galal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry.

         
   
         

From the credit hour program, Dr. Nermin Victor and Dr. Dina Omar, coordinator of the Faculty ’s Alumni Association, and a group of college professors, coordinated by the Faculty ’s Student Union.

The ceremony opened with a distinguished performance by the graduates, and loud, chilling applause rose to welcome the 135 graduate pharmacists with happiness and enthusiasm, wishing them happiness, lasting success, and a bright future.

Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, in his speech, welcomed the gentlemen in attendance, was proud and grateful to them for the effort and work they have put in to reach the day of reaping the fruits of effort and effort, crowned with success, among fathers and mothers who are proud of their children and whose happiness fills their hearts.

In his speech, he praised the distinguished batch, which was credited with continuing and achieving despite the Corona pandemic, their role in confronting the pandemic, their efforts to transform the ordeal into a special scholarship in practical faculties, and the constant follow-up from faculty professors who helped to graduate an outstanding student.

         
   
         
         
   
         

He pointed to the challenge of the Faculty of Pharmacy to obtain accreditation in the International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority, and the faculty was best prepared to obtain international accreditation in terms of science, knowledge and infrastructure. They have effort, dream and enthusiasm to achieve their goal and the ability to prove the steps of accreditation, faculty staff and their flexibility in helping to achieve the goal despite the weight of their academic degrees.

Drawing attention to the Education Development Department at Ain Shams University, which is unique to the university, and the role of Dr. Mona Abdel-Al in achieving the steps in cooperation with the various faculties and the cooperation of the Faculty of Pharmacy to achieve the dream, which requires constant and diligent work and self-confidence.

In his speech, he mentioned that we are fortunate to have students at the university who are serious about education, not only science, but also the student activities we have at Ain Shams University, the best university theater in the Middle East, sports teams, and participation in all recreational activities.

He also stressed the need for students to follow the example of their great professors, as the faculty has the highest rate of international publishing and scientific and research performance, stressing that the sound education pattern is for the graduate to be capable of continuous learning, creativity, and giving.

He explained in his speech that the medical professions group is an integrated group working to protect and care for the patient, and the only observer is God Almighty. He advised them to be honest and adhere to professional ethics to achieve a true medical system. Today is not the end but the beginning of education, development, and access to everything new in science, in addition to financial stability.

         
   
         
         
   
         

Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikh, in his speech, confirmed the excellence of all graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Ain Shams University and his constant pride in them, advising them to continue learning and taking courses and to enable them to obtain the opportunities available to graduates offered to work in European countries.

He praised the importance of pharmacists during the Corona pandemic, their standing by all of Egypt, and the role of the pharmacist in providing quick and free consultation for every patient and paying attention to the humanitarian aspect, not just the educational aspect.

At a moment that every graduate strives for, the graduates stop and repeat the oath to practice the profession. The oath makes you almost certain that the person taking the oath is fully determined not to betray his words, or neglect the actions he pledged, no matter what happens.

         
   
         
         
   
         

Then Dr. Amani Kamel welcomed and thanked Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, for his efforts, achievements and support for the education sector and students, and the great progress the sector witnessed under his leadership and his role in the faculty obtaining international accreditation.

She also welcomed the graduates and their efforts and hard work in student activities, community service, the medical convoy team, and the gems of scientific research. The projects presented by the students were published in international periodicals Q1. The 2022/2023 batches were credited with cooperating with the faculty to obtain international accreditation from the American Commission for International Accreditation and Certification. The faculty is the first government Faculty of pharmacy to obtain this accreditation.

She also called on students to be proud of Ain Shams University, which includes 2% of Stanford’s list of the best scientists in the world, and advised them to be honest, pay attention to work, be considerate of everyone, and be a permanent support to each other, and that there is no success without a work team.

         
   
         
         
   
         

She advised them to strive constantly and actively, to search for everything new and to pay attention to achieving their dreams and success, and to obtain new and distinguished training courses to keep pace with scientific developments. She addressed the fathers and mothers, feeling their feelings and pride in their children, and today has come the moment to reap the fruits of their investment in their children.

Prof. Reem Al-Kabariti congratulated the graduates by the wonderful celebration and full support to the graduates, pointing out that today we end our academic life and begin our practical life.

She explained to the attendees the administration of the Graduates Association, which is a central administration that was established three years ago. It aims to qualify and train students for the labor market and try to provide employment opportunities and free courses for graduates, displaying successful models in graduates’ meetings and forums in cooperation with the ASU IHub Center, as well as offering prizes to graduates and Ramadan tournaments and inviting them to communicate with the Association. Emphasizing the possibility of the graduate obtaining a membership card that will be delivered with the graduation certificate, which will provide him with some free services and discounts.

         
   
         
         
   
         

In her speech, Dr. Rehab Othman expressed her happiness and gratitude for a great and distinctive program such as the Pharmaceutical Design program, which is unique to the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University among all programs.

It is worth noting that most of the graduates received excellent grades , and she extend thanks and gratitude to everyone who contributed and helped achieve the students’ dream.

She stressed Ain Shams University’s keenness to provide the best services to students from the management of the electronic support unit, measurement and evaluation, quality administration of the faculty, the medical center and human resources, and tipped hat to the graduates’ families for their keenness to invest in their children and bring them to the pinnacle of success today and harvest their success, wishing them a bright future.

Dr. Ahmed Abu Zeid in his speech welcomed Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud and Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikh, and the gentlemen attending and the faculty administration, represented by Prof. Amani Kamel, the vice deans, and all the department heads for their support and assistance to the students throughout the previous years, which were crowned with success , and we collect their harvest today with great pride and joy, as especially mentioned Prof. Maha Farouk gave special thanks to the students’ families for their hard work and efforts.

The ceremony's activities included showing a video of the faculty staff expressing their feelings and pride in the success of their graduate students.

The celebration also included musical performances and taking a souvenir photo for the students, and the students were given certificates of appreciation.
