The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University (ASU-iHub) launched the inaugural conference of the “Green Economy Hub” project in cooperation with the Entrepreneurship Center at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany (TU Berlin), funded by the German Agency for Cultural Exchange and the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in Germany, under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of both Prof. Shahira Samir Zaki, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Reem Al-Kabraiti, Director of the Alumni Association of Ain Shams University, Dr. Carsten Walbiner, Director of the Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Mrs. Lorena Mohr, commissioner of the German Embassy, Mrs. Engy Nafea, Head of the Cairo Liaison Office of the Technische Universität Berlin, Prof. Jan Kratzer, representative from the Technische Universität Berlin.
Under the supervision of Prof. Diaa Khalil, Executive Director of the Innovators Support Fund and General Supervisor of the Activities of the ASU IHub Center at Ain Shams University, Prof. Adel Al-Sabbagh, Director General of the ASU IHub Center, Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Executive Director of the ASU IHub Center, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikh, Director of the Center’s Technology Transfer Unit, Dr. Islam Adly, Director of Student Activities at the ASU IHub Center, and the work team, Dr. Mahmoud Shams, Director of Operations at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Lubna Rifaat, project manager at the ASU IHub Center.
The green economy project is considered a continuation of the cooperation agreement concluded between the ASU IHub Center at Ain Shams University and the Entrepreneurship Center at the Technical University of Berlin in what is known as the “Innovative Solutions for the Fourth Generation of Industry” (ISI4Egypt) project, which lasts 12 months.
The project aims to raise awareness and educate the future generation of employees, managers and specialists who can lead and implement the green transformation in Egypt, by providing students and graduates of Ain Shams University with green entrepreneurial thinking and the skills necessary to drive the transformation processes towards a green economy, as there has become a need for innovative thinking, new methods and sustainable solutions, the program targets students, graduates and faculty staff.
The day began with opening speeches by the administration of Ain Shams University, then speeches by the gentlemen in charge of the project, then the short lectures began so that the lecturers (Menin El-Qalyoubi, Mohamed El-Naggar, Monica Fahim, Sherif El-Nabrawy, Gunes Knauer) delved into a greater depth of the green economy. “The first lecture: Sustainability in Urban Societies.” and Industrial, the second lecture: How can financial technology help in implementing the green economy, the third lecture: green roofs for green cities, the fourth lecture: Virtual Reality Towards Sustainability, the fifth lecture: Creative Nature: Creating sustainable, low-tech DIY kits to help you get creative. In addition to a wonderful group of workshops that focused on broader concepts of financial sustainability and the green economy.
The workshops were presented by a group of experts, namely (Professor: Jan Kratzer, Dr. Malta & Dr. Paul Wolf, Professor: Huai Ngan Trung, Dr. Minin El-Qalioubi, Mr: Muhammad Ajeez) The first workshop: Academic Transfer with Sustainable Impact. The second workshop: Sustainable business models and tools. The third workshop: Entrepreneurship Leads Sustainability. The fourth workshop: Industry 4.0: A step towards a just transformation.
