Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs participated with the leaders of the armed forces at the opening of the sixteenth exhibition of military cultures

Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, participated with the leaders of the armed forces, at the opening of the sixteenth annual exhibition of military cultures, “Memory of October 2023,” which was organized by the Military Research Authority and whose activities continued from October 2 to October 5, with a panorama of the October War.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was also attended by a number of leaders of the armed forces, a number of symbols of thought and knowledge, and a delegation of distinguished students of Ain Shams University.

         
   
         

This comes within the framework of Egypt and the Armed Forces’ celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious October victories, and out of concern from Ain Shams University and the education and student sector, headed by Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud for contributing to enriching the cultural and intellectual awareness of various generations and introducing them to the glories and heroics of the Egyptian military throughout the ages.

The exhibition includes many pavilions and exhibits in the fields of military culture, plastic arts, and images. There is also a pavilion for books, magazines, encyclopedias, cultural publications, and fine manuscripts that dealt with the stages of the October War, with the participation of the Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Culture, the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar, and a number of civil and journalistic bodies and institutions, and Egyptian publishing houses, in addition to the publications of the Military Research Authority.

         
   
         

The exhibition also included a number of oil paintings, photographs, and maquettes through which Egyptian university and school students embodied the most amazing heroism of their great army in October 1973, under the supervision of the leadership of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, the administration of military museums, and the Association of Veterans and the Victims and Injured of War.

The exhibition contained open display areas for weapons and equipment that participated in the war from all the main branches of the armed forces, agencies and departments. The National Service Projects Agency for the Armed Forces also participated in the exhibition with a pavilion that includes all of the agency’s products, which are offered to visitors at reduced prices.

The "memory of October 2023” exhibition included a cultural artistic theater to present artistic, musical and lyrical performances with the participation of military musicians, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, and student bands from a number of Egyptian universities and education directorates.

At the end of the visit, the students expressed their great happiness and admiration for the diversity of cultures and exhibits they saw in the museum, and their happiness at being in this great edifice, which bears witness to Egypt’s modern history and documents its ancient civilization. They were also keen to take a group of souvenir photos.
