Within the framework of the societal responsibility placed on the shoulders of the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, and with the aim of developing the patriotic spirit of the students and members of the faculty by demonstrating the sacrifice and redemption made by the men of our valiant armed forces in the October 6 War, 1973, the faculty organized a symposium entitled Celebration of October 6, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Safi. Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Muhammad Al-Shafi’i, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Ahmed Dehoum, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and leader of the Students for Egypt family, in the presence of the faculty administration, its guests, and a large number of faculty students.
Prof. Muhammad Safi, Dean of the Faculty, opened the symposium by welcoming the faculty’s guests and honorable attendees. His Excellency moderated the course of the symposium, in which His Excellency Major General Staff Officer: Ibrahim Abdel Ati, squadron commander in the first air strike, and His Excellency Major General Staff Officer: Mahmoud. Muhammad Hassanein, Fellow of the Nasser Higher Military Academy, and His Excellency Major General Staff Officer: Muhammad Al-Hamshari, Assistant of the Nasser Military Academy, gave lectures.
The speakers highlighted the military miracle performed by our armed forces in the face of a brutal aggression that declared itself to be an invincible force, and they showed how the will and courage of the heroes of the armed forces removed the arrogance of this enemy, so they crossed the Suez Canal, passed the largest earthen berm, and knocked the enemy off balance in just six hours.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Prof. Muhammad Safi, Dean of the Faculty, stressed the need for the faculty students to know the honorable history of our armed forces, stressing the need for the unity of the people and their ralliance around their armed forces. Then, His Excellency presented the college’s shield to the guests and thanked them and the honorable attendees, stressing the faculty’s support for everything they do. It would foster the spirit of patriotism and belonging.
