Under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, the winter semester offered by the German University of Marburg (online) began within the framework of the joint cooperation program with Egyptian universities MOVE Exchange program for undergraduate students, for students accepted from the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University in the Department of Ancient History at the German University of Marburg.
Eight students were previously accepted from the faculty, including five from the Department of Greek and Roman Archeology and three from the Department of Archeology and Excavations.
The semester began with introductory lectures on the study system at the University of Marburg and getting to know the university’s research laboratories, as well as the university’s various colleges and the Department of Ancient History to which students of the Faculty of Archeology are affiliated, as well as a detailed explanation of the curricula to be studied and the activities in which students are scheduled to participate according to the Activities system. based learning practiced at the university, and that day, Thursday, October 19, 2023, was followed by the regular study with a first lecture for the course on the Hellenistic Kingdoms and Rome.
