An inspection tour by the President of Ain Shams University to the Medical City

Within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to develop and completely replan the Ain Shams University Hospitals area, and to establish the Ain Shams University Medical City, which will serve thousands of patients, Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, inspected the completion of the work of establishing the International Medical City in the heart of Cairo at Ain Shams University to review the work that has been completed and develop a plan for completion and delivery of the project.

He was accompanied on the tour by Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ain Shams University Hospitals, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and Prof. Yasser Mujahid, Director of the Engineering Consultation Center, and Ain Shams Medical City Project Consultant.

         
   
         

Prof. Hazem Al-Dali, engineering advisor to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Hospital Board of Directors, and Prof. Raghda Talal, Director of the Emergency Hospital, and Captain Mahmoud Tariq Othman from Military Works, participated in the tour.

During the visit, Prof. Mohamed Diaa praised the effort to complete this huge national project, which is of the interest of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He also directed that the work be completed quickly to provide a distinguished and integrated medical service to thousands of patients within the Medical City at Ain Shams University.

During the tour, His Excellency listened to what was presented by Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, which was a detailed explanation of the development of the medical city, starting with the park attached to the medical city and planning to create a walkway for patients and students inside the medical park. The design also took into account the creation of advanced playgrounds such as a five-a-side court, a volleyball court, and a basketball court to entertain students and participate in sports activities, as the percentage of green spaces increased to 30%. % In addition to opening an emergency door for the exit of patients, students and hospital workers to the metro station road to make it easier for everyone, in addition to establishing the Patient Rehabilitation Center building and developing the Arab Al-Muhammadi Library.

The tour included the construction site of the main blood bank, which consists of one floor and two mezzanines that were developed with the latest equipped technologies, the establishment of electrical panels and reception rooms, and its appropriate planning to provide service to donors, and the destination works are being completed.

In addition to a tour of the new emergency hospital building, which consists of 7 floors, which includes 8 operating rooms, 150 inpatient beds, 60 care beds, including 20 toxicology beds, in addition to an administrative and academic floor, lecture halls, and a radiology department equipped with two CT scan machines.

It is worth noting that the Medical City of Ain Shams University includes 11 projects, the most prominent of which is the fences and gates project to prevent overcrowding, Al-Waili Park, Arab Al-Mohammadi Park, the largest park, the Doctors’ Residence Park, and the Demerdash Park project. The general site has also been developed and the external fence and gates of the Medical City have been constructed.

It also includes the Medical City, Al-Demerdash Hospital, Surgery Hospital, Internal Medicine Hospital, Children's Hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Center, Clinical Toxicology Center, Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital, Medical Research Center, and the Main Blood Bank.

The construction development works and improving human expertise aim to provide distinguished service to patients visiting hospitals with high quality, a distinguished and contemporary medical standard, and health care in line with quality and infection control guidelines, and to provide them with the latest medical devices and carry out the necessary maintenance for them, with constant attention to raising the human competencies of doctors and nurses.
